Asus T100TA-DK002H Laptop Review

The Asus T100TA-DK002H prides itself in being able to act as a Laptop and a Tablet. Sporting a great operating system – Windows 8.1, we check it out to see how it performs.

Screen: 7.5/10

1366×768 will look great on a 10.1 inch screen, giving you a clear and sharp image. Combined with a 5-point touchscreen, navigation will be a breeze on this device. However, 10.1 Inch screens aren’t very big and can cause problems for people who need a lot of screen space for their work. However, since this laptop can convert into a tablet, 10.1 inches is a great size for a tablet.

CPU: 7/10

The T100TA features a pretty nible CPU, a quad-core running at 1.33GHz. This will run videos, basic games and multiple programs very smoothly which is great for productivity and ease of use. You will most likely not experience much lag or stutter due to this.

RAM: 3/10

2GB of RAM in 2014 is not enough – 4GB is the bare minimum if you want to be running multiple applications at once. As I’m sitting here typing this, my laptop is using 3GB of RAM. So, you’ll most likely experience a sluggish performance due to the RAM being so low, which sucks, since the CPU in this device is great.

Storage: 4/10

The storage in here is an SSD, meaning boot times, loading times and transferring files will be super fast on the Asus T100TA-DK002H. However, with just 32 GB of storage, you won’t have much space to store anything. Windows 8.1 will use some of that storage for itself too, giving this laptop a low score of 4/10 for storage.

Battery Life: 10/10

11 hours of battery life is great for any laptop. You’ll have tonnes of time to do what you like on this device without having to plug it in, meaning you can watch movies, listen to music and work for even longer.

In conclusion, we think that this laptop will be very fitting for kids, since it is very small and lightweight, as well as it can double as a laptop for school work and a tablet for play. If you’re looking for a laptop focused for work, you could try the Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1R8.
